Pecan nut is scientifically known as Carya illinoinensis and its semi-temperate fruit. Pecan trees are adaptable to a temperate climate, thrive in temperatures of 20-30°C (68-86°F) and can withstand winter lows of -15°C (5°F). They flourish in regions with an annual rainfall of 600-1200 mm (24-48 inches) and are resilient to varying moisture levels. Pecans are versatile, growing successfully from sea level to 1500 meters (4921 feet) above sea level. Their ecological adaptability contributes to their widespread cultivation, supporting biodiversity and soil stability.
