39-year-old Rinchen Pelzang, a former agriculturist, was awarded the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam International Award 2023 at Kolkata in India yesterday.
He was given the award for promoting agriculture and conserving the environment in the country. He worked as a founding CEO of a nursery farm in Punakha.
The award was presented to individuals from 13 countries by the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Foundation.
The foundation aims to continue fostering the spirit of innovation and scientific curiosity.
