On the hills above Punakha, Sangay Cheki and her husband are cultivating a wide variety of local and exotic fruits and flowers, including avocados and orchids, in sizable greenhouses that are spread out over the slopes.

They have customers in numerous districts across the country and sell not only from their nursery but also at the Punakha market. As they broaden the variety of plants they are growing, their production increases, and even farmers can purchase seeds and seedlings from them.
